THE HORSE

From the pounding chariot races of ancient Rome to the cowboy's best friend, the horse has always been loved for it's divine grace. Pure poetry in motion. This majestic half life-size statue of a valiant charger is a MONUMENT to the horse lover everywhere.

Measuring 41" tall to the tip of the ears by 44" long, this "one-of-a-kind" sculpture was created with a core of high density foam covered with an inch layer of bonded resin epoxy putty into which all the surface detail was sculpted. The horse is painted eggshell black with glass eyes and is firmly attached to the base by threaded rods through the two hind legs which are secured with wing nuts from beneath.

It is equipped for a US Civil War general including a miniature McClellan saddle with a quilted leather seat cover; stitched leather harness and stirrup hoods. The saddle holsters have bear far covers. The valise and saddle cloth are regulation but the saddle bags are purely local civilian manufacture displaying Southern Pennsylvania (Dutch/German) decorative motifs. The martingale is held in place in the front by a brass 1840's style US eagle mounted on a leather shield. Also included is a half-size steel and brass US Cavalry saber suspended from the saddle. The saber is removable from the scabbard.

This statue would be perfect for large offices, lobbies, equestrian centers or personal home decor. It is best viewed mounted on a pedestal at eye level or higher for maximum heroic effect. This piece would certainly require a special "center of attention" space reserved especially for it. A real museum piece.
