SANTA ANNA
I based my designs in part on this daguerreotype
of Santa Anna c. 1850. Although the quality of the original image is poor
and faded, his collar detail of strong diagonal lines could be interpreted
as sun rays. I had never seen in any research before such a peculiar pattern
so Daniel Orlandi and I decided to reserve this pattern especially for
Santa Anna to further identify him as top dog. I used this same motif
for his cuffs which I had to conject.
